Beat Beat Bit
Rope/copper wire, wool, electronic and mechanical time devices.
Blessed are the forgetful, for they get the better even of their blunders (F. Nietzsche)
Beat! pain. Beat. Sadness. Beat. Anger. Beat. Complain. Beat. Prayer. Beat. Habit. Beat. Support. Beat. Vital. Beat. Environment. Beat. Chaos. Beat. Cocoon. Bit!
Beat Beat Bit is a walkable textile installation which aims to question our daily dependence on extra technology and how it limits our biologic and spiritual evolution, as well as, on the other hand, the unlimited and uncontrolled growing pattern that our creative nature can get if only applied to technology.
Only different time measures or ways of interacting with time make the difference between the “synthetic” and the “human”. I am so confronting three time measures or cycles -technologic, biologic and spiritual- making of the installation a big complex vital clock comprised of only one element -one thread- and its transformation.
